On Monday December 3rd, Zellner's President and CEO, Jeff Spadafora, the Senior Personal Lines Agent, Karalee Sievert, and VP, Xiomara Spadafora, had the privilege to meet 1Sgt. Michael Lippencott and Ramonia Diallo, Combat Casualty Visiting Nurse, at the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) in Jacksonville.
Before Thanksgiving, Karalee--a Navy veteran herself--met Ramonia at a charity event at the NAS Jacksonville and learned about the non-profit organization
Touched by the stories of veterans in hardship, Karalee shared the information with the agency staff. Shortly after, we created a small fund to which all the employees contributed. 1Sgt. Michael Lippencott was the service man we chose as the recipient of our donation.
Sgt. Lippencott is a father of four and he is planning his retirement for June next year after almost twenty-three years of service. He joined the Marine Corps in 1996 and since then, he has completed seven tours to Iraq and Afghanistan in the operations Iraq Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and New Dawn.
Needless to say, the wounds of his sacrifice to defend our country's freedom are not only the visible ones, but also the ones on his soul.
The struggle of many service men and women to reenter civilian life is an ordeal that nobody prepares them for. Their homes change in their absence and when they have to adjust to the new lifestyle, it may very well become the most challenging mission of their lives.
This is where the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society plays a remarkable role. The Society provides financial assistance and education, as well as other programs and services, to members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows, and survivors across the nation.
Furthermore, the Society has an amazing component called Combat Casualty Assistance (CCA) Nurse Program. In their own words, their mission is to help Marines and Sailors heal, both body and mind, after their wartime service.
The CCA Visiting Nurses is a program that helps closing the loop with medical staff and case managers, providing face-to-face contact to wounded warriors and their families at inpatient, rehabilitation, or outpatient facilities, and even their homes.
They customize their support to the needs of the service member for as long as they desire. This includes reinforcing the existing medical plan, medicines review, wound care, and education about the resources and agencies available to meet their goals.
NMCRS is a non-profit organization. Therefore, donations like Zellner's are never expected, but greatly appreciated.
"In my 22 + years of being in uniform, never has it been me that has been assisted with anything. I know that sounds weird, but it is the truth. It has been a long road, and a new beginning is around the corner for me; I look forward to seeing it, I am ready for it! I want to thank your company for making me realize that not everyone forgets about the sacrifices that are made...... ", wrote Sgt. Lippencott in a thank you note to Zellner.
As an organization, Zellner Insurance Agency values and supports our troops. And as fellow Americans, we thank them for their service and pray for their safe return to their families, especially during the upcoming holiday season.

Finding Workers Compensation can be heavy lifting. Many carriers require three to five years of documented experience to even consider you for coverage. Another area of difficulty is sole proprietors. One-man businesses often times are not deemed eligible for coverage by most carriers.
If you are a start-up business, are a sole proprietor, or if you have had many claims in the past, searching for workers’ compensation may become frustrating. The good news is we have the solution: PEO.
A Professional Employer Organization is your business partner. A PEO administrates your payroll, worker's compensation, and human resources. In other words, it becomes the back office component for your business so you can focus on what is important: growth.
BrightComp is our brokerage firm and it is one of the largest independent brokers in America for Professional Employment Organizations with 20+ years of experience in the industry. Representing over 25 PEOs nationwide, we work in all 50 states to tailor programs for every need, including one-man operations.

This week we had an extraordinary situation with one of our insureds. Our Senior Personal Lines Agent discovered, during the weekend, that a four feet alligator was stalking her house, specially her cat.
After she reported it to Animal Control, she received a phone call from the subcontractor to schedule the appointment for the removal. While on the phone, she was so eager to have the alligator removed, that she did not expect him to ask, "Are you my insurance agent?". To her surprise, he was one indeed of her clients. Immediately, her insurance agent brain took over the alligator emergency, and she told the insured they needed to have a conversation about his coverage.
Notifying your insurance agent if you have bizarre or uncommon hobbies that could put you at a potentially higher risk of a lawsuit or void your coverage in the event of an accident is extremely important.
In the case of the above insured, if he were in a car accident while transporting a live gator, that gets loose and chomps on someone, there would not be sufficient liability coverage. In this case, he would have to have a Commercial General Liability policy.
Many retirees chose to work simple jobs to keep busy and earn extra income. However, if you are subcontracting for something more dangerous than packing groceries, call us now and we will get you covered! (904)-356-1492
The incredible images of lava consuming homes and vehicles in the Big Island, Hawaii, caused by the eruption of the Kilauea Volcano that started ten days ago, raises the question, are those homeowners covered for the perils they are facing?
Insurance Journal reported yesterday that Hawaii’s insurance commissioner, Gordon Ito, had assured residents that their lava claims would be covered under the fire form. Nonetheless, he had to rectify that coverage may vary from policy to policy.
Now, the question for you is, do you know with certainty what does your current homeowners cover and what does it exclude? Call us (904) 356-1492 or click here to get a free quote!

If you are a tower, this could be your story and here is how we can help.
A company based in Central Florida, with 12 trucks in operation, was insured with State National for two years. Out of the blue, they were notified that they wouldn’t be renewed, so they had to find a new agent which increased their annual premiums in excess of $200,000 for Commercial Auto and Garage Liability.
After we met at our booth during the Florida Tow Show, our agents started calling on their business for over a year, while visiting them on multiple occasions. When they gave us the opportunity to quote their policies, we found them coverage with a ground breaking, AM Best rated company, saving them over $40,000
Although the cash savings were considerable, what truly differentiate us from our competitors was our dedication and knowledge of the towing industry. “In all of these years, you guys are the first agents that showed up in person”, said the owner of the company.
At Zellner, we understand that commercial Insurance is not a product, but a relationship, and we are committed to make it work. If you are having trouble finding coverage for your operation or you are paying too much, give us a call.
We have markets for one or multiple units. And one more thing, your certificates of insurance are issued within 24 hours. What are you waiting for?
